wait and see

When I think of the California several different things pop into my head. Beaches. Hills. Hollywood. Snakes.

But to be honest, I don't know much about California at all. Of course, I know what it looks like - I've seen it in movies, I've seen it in pictures, I've read about it in books. In fact, I've even gone there a few years ago for a week or two. But I don't know what it's like to actually live there.

I do know one thing though - it's a lot different than living in Ireland.

A little while ago I found out that I will most likely be leaving my home and going to live in California - for a whole year.

And that's scary. It's scary having to leave something you love so much and going to a place you know barely anything about.

Yet I know that I don't need to be afraid of anything. I may not be sure what it's going to be like there, but there is one thing I am sure about. I'm sure that God will be with me wherever I am in this world.

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
Joshua 1:9

It will be very hard leaving - goodbyes are always hard. And it is hard not knowing what it will be like. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

  1. You're poetic, Hannah! That's a nice reminder to me; the verse you posted about being courageous, that God is always with us, thanks.

  4. Oh my! God will stay with you through all your troubles! Stay strong! When I was in 4th grade (now in 6th) we had to go to California for 3 months. It was hard- I didn't know anyone, I didn't know what they would think of me, etc. But it was really fun- I met a LOT of friends and I even had a playdate with someone there. I had tons of sleepovers iwth my neighbor- the scene is just great, but just remember Californiaa beaches are ALWAYS bbrrrr.... cold!!! Hehe! Have fun!!! God bless you! -Abby

  5. Happy Birthday (saw your link from Madeline's blog). I am so encouraged by your faith. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and verses with us. Someday, before I get too old, I hope to visit Ireland. Once I had to live in Los Angeles for 2 years. I met a lot of nice Christians there and the Lord led me to a great church family. I know since Jesus is Immanuel, he'll guide you to meet some wonderful Christian friends too. Merry Christmas and God bless you! from Sylvia (I have a blog too at beachbabydoll.blogspot.com)

  6. Hannah,
Thank you for your comment! I came over to see what has been going on with you lately...never expecting to hear this shocking news! Irish Girl is moving to California. Sounds like it should be a big headline. =>

Wow, I am very surprised, but I know that I will greatly be looking forward to hearing about your trip, the 1 year stay there, and what life is like in general for you.

"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD." Psalm 27:14

May God bless you & your family during this coming time!
