Hey Everyone! This week I'm joining in The Broke and the Bookish blog's Top Ten Tuesday Link-up. This week, it is 'Rewind', which meant I could look back into the archives of Top Ten Tuesday and pick any one of them to do. I chose...
Top Ten Favorite Book Quotes
1.
"And for us this is the end of all the stories, and we can most truly say
that they all lived happily ever after. But for them it was only the
beginning of the real story. All their life in this world and all their
adventures in Narnia had only been the cover and the title page: now at
last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on
earth has read: which goes on for ever: in which every chapter is better
than the one before."
The Last Battle, C.S. Lewis
2.
"I have hated the words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right."
The Book Thief, Markus Zusak
3.
"Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am
soulless and heartless? You think wrong! I have as much soul as you -
and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and
much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is
now for me to leave you."
Jane Eyre, Charlotte Bronte
"I try not to think - it interferes with being nuts."
The Mark of Athena, Rick Riordan
5.
"Have you, in truth, ever seen something so heartbreakingly lovely? What
are we to make of a world where stars shine bright in the midst of so
much darkness and gloom?"
The Magician's Elephant, Kate DiCamillo
6.
"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the
longing - to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty
came from - my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do
you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home?
For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."
Till We Have Faces, C.S. Lewis
7.
"Whatever souls are made of, his and mine are the same."
Wuthering Heights, Emily Bronte
8.
"We'd been trying to touch the sky from the bottom of the ocean. I
realized that if we boosted one another, maybe we'd get a little
closer."
Between Shades of Gray, Ruta Sepetys
9.
"You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope."
Persuasion, Jane Austen
10.
"I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything
very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring
simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls
slipping off a string."
Anne of Avonlea, L.M. Montgomery
I know I'm missing a lot of great ones, but these are the quotes that came to mind!
What are some of your favorite book quotes?
love,
Hannah
Love these! That first one is my absolute favorite...it gives me chills. :) {Of course, I'm always crying by the time I get to the end of The Last Battle.} I also especially love numbers 3, 5, and 9. (I really need to reread some of Kate Dicamillo's books. They're all wonderful!)
ReplyDeleteLoved number four. Made me laugh. One of my favorites is “He never went out without a book under his arm, and he often came back with two.” from Les Miserables. Also "True fear has nothing to do with what might happen to you, however painful or vile that might be. True fear is all about what might happen to someone you love” from Shadow Bound.

ReplyDeleteHi, Hannah. I saw that you followed me on bloglovin' and thought I would pop in to see you. I like your blog! :) Your travel photos are gorgeous, and I love finding people who have the same taste in books. (To Kill a Mockingbird, Cinder, Ender's Game, The Book Thief, The Blue Castle, etc.) Nice to meet you!
