O hushed October morning mild,
Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;
Tomorrow’s wind, if it be wild,
Should waste them all.
The crows above the forest call;
Tomorrow they may form and go.
O hushed October morning mild,
Begin the hours of this day slow.
Make the day seem to us less brief.
Hearts not averse to being beguiled,
Beguile us in the way you know.
Release one leaf at break of day;
At noon release another leaf;
One from our trees, one far away.
Retard the sun with gentle mist;
Enchant the land with amethyst.
Slow, slow!
For the grapes’ sake, if they were all,
Whose leaves already are burnt with frost,
Whose clustered fruit must else be lost—
For the grapes’ sake along the wall.
Absolutely gorgeous photos. I love the shift in focus between the first and second, you've really captured the scene. Also, I do love a bit of Robert Frost myself xx

Aw, thank you, Beth!
DeleteI am amazed by folks who can capture entire seasons in a few simple lines. What a beautiful post all around!
ReplyDeleteAgreed! Robert Frost certainly can do that. And thank you, Susanna! :)
DeleteI really like your photography! I have also been taking quite a few photos now that it is Autumn, I consider Autumn the photographer's season. The coloring on that cat is very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you! You're right, autumn is so picturesque.
DeleteAnd yeah, I think little Amelia is so pretty - she looks so autumn-y :D
So lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kristin!

DeleteROBERT FROSSSTTT <3 I'd never read that one before, it's so...fresh and real and lovely. Also, my brain is slightly overwhelmed right now by your photography skills. As I was scrolling through my blogger feed, the first photograph looked like strands of lights. Absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWow, Katie, thank you so much! You're so sweet :) And Robert Frost = awesome. I haven't actually read that many of his poems, but I think I should.
DeleteThese pictures are amazing, Hannah!! So lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Emily!!!
DeleteOh my goodness, our cats are twins. (http://wanderingflyte.blogspot.com/2014/07/summertime.html) The picture of my cat is black and white, but he's the same coloring, and his paw is over his face, so you can't really tell, but I could, looking at yours. :) :) I love Frost, and most poets, and this was gorgeous. ♥
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, your cat looks just like Alfred! He's adorable <3 Thanks for commenting, Peregrin!
DeleteHis name is Strider, cause he totally looks like Aragorn from Lord of the Rings. xP Our cats need to meet. :)
DeleteGorgeous photography, Hannah! I love pictures one and two, and you have cats! What are their names?
ReplyDeleteThank you! The big cat is Alfred, and the little one is Amelia. Hehe, I love my kitties! <3
