I Buy Overpriced Ice Cream // UK, Part 3

After an unexpected break, I'm back to continue sharing about my UK trip! (which already feels like so long ago. I'm ready to go back there now)

I thought I knew exactly what to expect of London. But it was really different from what I thought.

For one thing, it's so huge. Way bigger than I expected. Reality Check: London has about double the population of my entire country. K.

 Also: London's a little crazy.

The first thing we did once we arrived in London was to board a Hop-On-Hop-Off bus to tour the city. (well, technichally that wasn't the first thing we did. We ate at Subway first, but that's boring.)

We got off the bus outside of St. Paul's Cathedral. ("Feeeed the biiiirds, tuppence a bag!")

 |This was carved into the doorway. So, if it's real...that's pretty dang old graffiti.|

 A Small Sad Story
*outside of St. Paul's*
Me: Look! An ice cream truck! I think I'll get some ice cream.
Caleb: Me too!
Me: Okay, I'll buy them together.
*walks up to ice cream truck, where there is surprisingly no costumers despite the crowds at St. Paul's*
Me: Two choco cones, please.
*ice cream guy hands us ice creams that look fabulous*
Me: Thanks!
Him: That will be 8 pounds.
Me: What.

[8 pounds = 10 euros = 13.65 dollars. Yep.]

Next, we got back on the bus and headed for the Tower of London.

The Tower of London was cool - we saw the crown jewels (fancy) and saw where people were imprisoned hundreds of years ago (tragic) and got a picture with a guard (of course).

Next, we got to go on a City Cruise boat! It was really cool to see the city from the water.

|some random clock I decided to take a picture of.|

Our day in London was overwhelming and pretty awesome. We went to London again later in the week - I'm really excited to share those photos, too (because it involves Sherlock Holmes and Les Miserables).

Love,
Hannah

  2. Goodness, it blows my mind to see so many historical buildings and modern buildings in the same place! And that random clock is so gorgeous that it doesn't even seem real. :)

    1. Yes! The variety of all different types of buildings (from all different eras) was one of the amazing things about London. It was pretty cray.

  3. This post was fabulous. And I literally walked around for several days thinking you spent $65 dollars on ice cream, and then went back and read this again, and realized you spent $13.65. It quite ruined the affect. ;)

AND SHERLOCK AND LES MIS ME OH MY LET US SEE THIS NEXT POST.

  4. Beautiful pictures! It makes me miss London so much, even though it's been years since I've visited. I need to go there again! (Living in the US does make that difficult.) BTW, isn't the Tower of London amazing?!
