I watch videos on youtube. Here are some of my favorite channels.
1. Blimey Cow
Blimey Cow is a channel run by Jordan, his brother Josh, and Josh's wife Kelly. Their videos are hilarious and they make Monday a day to look forward to. #staymessy
2. Pemberley Digital
If you're a Jane Austen fan, then you should probably be watching Emma Approved - it's a modern-day retelling of Emma told through weekly vlogs. It's kinda amazing. Oh, and you should probably have a Lizzie Bennet Diaries (modern Pride and Prejudice!) marathon, too.
3. Ariel Bissett
So, I watch BookTube. In case you haven't heard of it, BookTube is the cool part of youtube filled with vloggers who talk mainly about books. I've gotten some amazing book recommendations from watching BookTube, and also it's just plain fun. Ariel Bissett is one of the first BookTubers I stumbled upon, and she's still one of my favorites!
4. Carrie Fletcher @ It'sWayPastMyBedtime
Carrie is the sweetest ever. Her vlogs are fun and thought-provoking, she's an amazing singer, and I fangirl about her sometimes. Plus she is currently Eponine in West End's Les Mis. More on that later. Here's her singing one of her original songs.
5. Shannon @ CozyTeaReads
Another favorite BookTuber of mine! Shannon has great taste in books and her videos are really creative and fun to watch.
Do you guys watch any of the channels I mentioned? What are some of your favorite youtubers?
love,
Hannah
ACK!!! I totally forgot to talk about Emma Approved in our email!!! I totally watch and love that show and have been known to run about the house screaming
ReplyDelete"Aleeeeeeeeex"
after certain episodes. So much love.
Yay, you love it too! Hey I totally noticed that and I was like, "WELL I GUESS SHE DOESN'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT." Knightley is forever and always my favorite.

ReplyDeleteI'm sad that Emma Approved is over. :( But everyone keeps saying that a second season is possible, soooo . . .
ReplyDeleteHave you started watching Frankenstein, M.D.? I don't think I'll like it as much as the Austen adaptations. (But that might be because I haven't read Frankenstein. Which I should probably remedy.)
I'm sad too :( I'm not sure if I like Frankenstein, M.D so far...but that might just be because I'm going through EA withdrawal.
DeleteThe only youtube channel I've heard of on this list is Blimey Cow. I love their videos! I'll have to check out the others you mentioned! One of my favorite youtube channels is Kid Snippets...so funny!
ReplyDeleteYes! A fellow Blimey Cow fan! I like Kid Snippets too :)
DeleteWhenever Blimey Cow is mentioned, it becomes priority for me to brag. ;) I met them. My brother is friends with Josh. And Jordan is really awesome (and pretty short). Just sayin'... ;)
ReplyDeleteYou WHAT? How amazing is that! I bet they are crazy fun people in real life. (You and Jordan are my new OTP, if that's okay.)
DeleteHaha, they really are! And... wait, whut? x)
Delete(And pardon me if that first comment sounded... snooty. Because I really didn't mean for it to come across that way! I was just rereading it this morning and realized it may have, haha!)
Hehehe! :) Oh, and no you didn't sound snooty at all!!
DeleteThis is such an awesome post! :) It's nice to know someone else who watches BookTube videos...so often I feel like the blogging and BookTube communities are so separate, though I don't understand why.
ReplyDeleteAs for retellings, most of the ones I watched are over now. I loved LBD and Emma Approved and The Autobiography of Jane Eyre (disappointed by the ending, though). I also liked The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy, though it recently ended, too. (There's talk of a possible second season, which I'm really hoping for. A few of the videos were iffy content-wise, but overall it was so cute.) I'm currently watching Green Gables Fables, but I'm not overly attached to it.
As for BookTube, here are some of my favorites:
- WordsofaReader (She reads lots of English classics and modern classics and children's literature, which are all things I love, too.)
- Ariel Bissett (I tend to shy away from the "popular" BookTubers, but I do like Ariel. I don't agree with her all the time and she reads way more YA than I do, but I love how enthusiastic she is!)
- Bookables (She's just so likable, plus she's a Harry Potter fan.)
- booksandquills (She usually has good taste in books and makes unique videos.)
- getbookish (The first bookish channel I subscribed to. They review a variety of books and even cover some nonfiction, which I like.)
- RamblingsAndGreenTea (She's really likable and she loves Austen and other classics. And like WordsofaReader, she appreciates pretty covers, as do I. Plus her New Zealand accent is so much fun! :)
And as for other random channels, I like Blimey Cow and AbbeyKathleen (she does book videos but lately she's been studying in New Zealand and doing gorgeous NZ vlogs!).
Wow...I probably went a little overboard here. Sorry about that. :)
I watch a lot of those same BookTubers! WordsofaReader is awesome. And I *love* The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy! It is adorable. Thanks for commenting, Kristin!!
DeleteThose all look good! I like John and Hank Green's the vlogbrothers. They're funny, smart, and insightful. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Danielle! I agree, the Green brothers are pretty brilliant.
DeleteI love Blimey Cow too! Have you ever seen Studio C by BYUtv? It's really hilarious and family appropriate comedy. I will check out Pemberly Digital and all the other channels for sure. They look so cool! Thanks for sharing them(-:
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elizabeth! I haven't heart of Studio C - but I'll definitely check it out!
DeleteK, jumping in here, but you really need to watch Studio C. They're my favorite ever. x)
DeleteOkay, I'm definitely going to check them out :)
