We're all mad here.
“Take some more tea," the March Hare said to Alice, very earnestly.
"I've had nothing yet," Alice replied in an offended tone, "so I can't take more."
"You mean you can't take less," said the Hatter: "it's very easy to take more than nothing."
"Nobody asked your opinion," said Alice.
`Yes, that's it,' said the Hatter with a sigh: `it's always tea-time, and we've no time to wash the things between whiles.'
`Then you keep moving round, I suppose?' said Alice.
`Exactly so,' said the Hatter: `as the things get used up.'
`But what happens when you come to the beginning again?' Alice ventured to ask.
`Suppose we change the subject,' the March Hare interrupted.
“The Queen of Hearts, she made some tarts, All on a summer day: The Knave of Hearts, he stole those tarts And took them quite away!”
`Really, now you ask me,' said Alice, very much confused, `I don't think--'
`Then you shouldn't talk,' said the Hatter.

I've always wanted to have a tea party like the one in Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I mean, who wouldn't want to attend such a bizarre party?
I loved putting this fictional feast together. Caleb and I had fun searching the house for things to use as decorations. Making tarts was a new experience, and they turned out seriously delicious.
Let me tell you, I felt very Wonderland-y with my teacup full of tea, my fancy (and by that I mean that I cut the crusts off) sandwiches, and my strawberry tart.
Guys, you seriously need to throw a mad tea party. (Please invite me. I'll bring tarts.)
love,
Hannah
Yummy! I seriously love your fictional feasts. I get so happy whenever you post one! :)
ReplyDeleteAlice in Wonderland is fantastic. I played the March Hare in a play and it was ever so much fun having our mad tea party. I would love to have one for real!
I'm so glad you like them - they're some of my favorite posts to make :) And ohh, that must have been such a fun character to play!
DeleteThe tarts look so pretty and delicious! Don't worry, if I have a mad tea party, you'll be the first person invited.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! :D
DeleteAhh! This looks like so much fun! I love the Mad Hatter. He's so delightfully strange, and this feast looks PERFECT! Plus, (random note) I don't think I've seen your hair down since you grew it out! It's so pretty :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Leah! Oh man, I love the Mad Hatter, too.
DeleteAw, thank you very much :)

ReplyDeleteTHANKS GIRLIE. Mugs are awesome too...especially if they have your blog's name on it :D
DeleteI really like your teacup in the sixth photograph!
ReplyDeleteThat's one of my favorites! It's made by an Irish company called Belleek.
DeleteThat looks lovely! I think the tea party is my favorite part of Alice in Wonderland!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I do too.
DeleteThis is basically the most awesome thing ever. :) I wish I was at this tea party! Now I'm even more hungry (it's getting close to supper time here) and I'm really wanting to reread Alice in Wonderland...
ReplyDeleteI wish you would've dropped by! :D Thanks for commenting, Kristin.
DeleteYour tea party looks absolutely scrumptious and so Alice in Wonderland-like. Now why wasn't I invited? :) I've made jam tarts before and they are so delicious. I especially liked how you put hearts on top of the tarts.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I should've remembered to send out invitations! :D
DeleteA mad tea party? Oh my goodness, this is too cute. I love Alice in Wonderland; I never had read the book until my dad got it for me when I turned ten, and I loved every bit of it.
ReplyDeletexoxo Morning
Thanks :D I agree, it's such a great story.

Yumm! I love tea parties, and the next one I have, I'm going to have to make tarts. They look so delicious! (-: I love your fiction feasts, I can't wait for more. And gorgeous photography. Tea parties make the pretties pictures.
ReplyDeleteYou should totally make tarts. Very yummy - and surprisingly simple to make, too!
DeleteThank you, Elizabeth!
Splendid! I adore your idea for fictional feasts. I have actually had two Alice in Wonderland tea parties. One was planned with a friend while we were on summer vacation. We all dressed up in costumes, decorated her dining room with all sorts of whimiscal things, and baked delicious treats (even labeling them "eat me" and "drink me".) It was a splendid time. Another time I planned an"unbirthday party" for my younger siblings because they are awesome and deserve surprises.
ReplyDeleteI just saw the list of all the other fictional feasts you have done. I really want to try them all.
Thanks, Susanna! And oh, that's so cool! I've always wanted to through an Unbirthday Party.
DeleteHannah, your fictional feasts are the best! + you look like a princess. Just saying.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you like them! Oh, and hehe that's so sweet! *is secretly a princess shhh*
